Being with Each Other in Herman Melville's Clarel

The present volume analyzes the political project manifested in the narrative poem by Melville 'Clarel: A Poem and Pilgrimage in the Holy Land'. Published in 1876, this work is centered on the necessities, the possibilities and the difficulties of intersubjectivity as a means to transcend the obstacles posed by individualism and traditional communities. Aquest volum analitza el projecte polític del poema narratiu de Melville 'Clarel: A Poem and Pilgrimage in the Holy Land'. Publicada el 1876, l'obra es centra en la necessitat, les possibilitats i les dificultats de la intersubjectivitat per a la superació de les barreres de l'individualisme i de comunitats tradicionals.
