Repression was a fundamental element in the consolidation of Francoism. The author analyzes how the regime's indiscriminate and systematic repressive machinery, the judicial and prison system, and the specific characteristics of gender repression were organized in the province of Castelló. This fourth edition, in addition to providing a quantitative investigation with an updated nominal list of the fatalities, in response to the legitimate needs of relatives for information and location, analyzes the studies and exhumation campaigns promoted in the graves of the civil war and Francoism in our regions, incorporates more than a hundred new photographs, and a section dedicated to the victims of the Nazi extermination camps from Castelló.
