Measures to prevent violence against women must be based on a comprehensive approach composed of primary, secondary and tertiary preventive measures: preventing violence from occurring; detect violence at an initial stage and prevent its progression or escalation at this stage; and to prevent recidivism and revictimization and to adequately manage the consequences of violence.
