Earthen architecture, one of the oldest and most widespread building traditions in the world, stands out for its ecological, cultural and aesthetic values. Constructed from locally available materials, in complete agreement with the landscape, earthen heritage presents both a technical challenge and an opportunity for contemporary sustainable development. Its study provides valuable knowledge on passive design, material circularity, and climate resilience. Earthen Heritage: Conservation, Adaptive Reuse and Sustainable Design compiles a wide range of academic contributions and practical experiences which reflect the renewed interest in earth as a material of the future, not only for conservation but also for innovation. This volume is of particular interest to professionals and scholars in Sustainable Architecture, Material Science, Restoration, and Environmental Engineering.
